Smooth and quick — Jamal and Katie were my movers, in and out in no time.
One truck leaves New Orleans, LA, and that same truck pulls into Dallas, TX — your boxes never sit in a warehouse waiting on a second driver.
Jamal prices this lane often enough to answer fast.
Dallas sits about 500 miles from New Orleans, reached by heading west on I-10 before picking up I-49 and I-20 into the metro. Despite the distance, most Dallas moves finish in a single day for our crew when we get an early start — figure around 8 hours of driving plus load and unload time. It’s a longer version of our Houston run, and just like that lane, one truck and one crew handle it from your front door in New Orleans to your new place in Dallas.
Dallas-Fort Worth sends a large number of students to Tulane, Loyola, UNO, and Xavier, which makes this one of our most consistent college-move routes. We also handle plenty of standard household relocations for people moving to Dallas for work, so bookings aren’t limited to May and August — they just spike hardest during those months. If you need a piano moved as part of a Dallas relocation, our piano moving service is built into the same trip rather than scheduled separately.
Given the extra 150 miles compared to Houston, Dallas quotes run a bit higher for equivalent load sizes, but the same rule applies: what you’re moving matters more than the destination city. A studio apartment costs a fraction of a full house move regardless of which Texas city you’re headed to. Ask about packing services if you’d rather hand off the boxing entirely, especially useful for students packing up during a busy finals week.
“Dallas and Houston get compared a lot, but Dallas adds real time to the day,” notes Jamal Broussard, who’s led long-distance and specialty jobs for our crew for seven years. “We start earlier on Dallas moves so we’re not unloading after dark, and if there’s a safe or anything oversized on the truck, that’s planned into the route ahead of time, not figured out at the curb.” Jamal personally checks the load plan on every Dallas job involving a safe or other heavy specialty item.
The two weeks after spring finals are the tightest on our Dallas calendar, with a second surge in early-to-mid August ahead of fall move-in. Office manager Desiree Landry recommends locking in your date through our quote form as soon as you know your move-out day, since Dallas slots during the May rush fill up fast. If your timeline doesn’t line up perfectly, ask about summer storage as a bridge, and see how past Dallas customers rated the crew in our reviews.
Think of these bands as a starting point, not a promise — how much you're moving and what the calendar looks like will settle the actual number.

Very smooth, moved within the city, no hassle at all. Professional the whole way through.
Big shout out to Katie and her crew for a big move today. It was a lot of work and I appreciate them getting me moved in quickly.
Jamal prices the whole haul off just two addresses — expect a real number back before the day is out.
